AUDITION WORKSHOP MASTERCLASS WITH MARKUS HAUCK

Sunday, September 13th 5 PM - 8 PM


ACTS will present a special vocal AUDITION WORKSHOP MASTERCLASS with Guest Teacher MARKUS HAUCK on Sunday September 13th from 5 PM - 8 PM (3 hour workshop). Enrollment is limited to 10 people. Fee is $65.00. Enrollment is on a first come basis and must be paid in full upon enrolling. This will be helpful for college auditions as well as any professional , community, school, and upcoming ACTS auditions.


Participants need to have a musical theater song

memorized, and bring sheet music for the pianist. Markus will will work with

each individual on their presentation. Here are some of the things we

will cover:

* Choosing the right song for your audition, and how to excerpt 16 bars

* Dressing right for the part: what to wear.. and what not

* How to communicate with the accompanist

* Musical style, diction and interpretation

* Acting a song, body language, and subtext

 

DANCE INTENSIVE
The program runs from Sunday August 16th to Saturday August 22nd in Concord, MA. The way the workshop works is that every day there are 3 different classes, each about an hour long taught over the course of a three hour period. We are still coming up with the final schedule for ordering the classes, but classes will vary between, tap, jazz, ballet, musical theatre, hip hop, African, Latin Aerobic Dance, contemporary, and modern.

The schedule is as follows:
Sunday: 6-9 pm at 51 walden St. Concord
Monday: 6-9pm at 51 walden
Tuesday: 7-10pm at 51 walden
Wednesday:6-9pm at Emerson Umbrella 40 Stow St. COncord
Thursday: 6-9pm at Emerson
Friday: 6-9pm at Emerson
Saturday: 11-2pm at Emerson

Acting Thru Monologue - An Interactive Master Class
Learn the rights and wrongs when choosing a monologue, as well as the ins and outs of preparing it.  Focus on understanding the power of vocal variation in addition to creative physicality while maintaining necessary control to achieve the highest possible audition results. Each student will perform a memorized monologue for in-class evaluation and review. Instructor: Gordon Ellis

Performance Enhancement Workshop - Learn "Mental Toughness" Secrets for Actors
Like elite athletes, actors have to perform in high visibility, high pressure situations.  Performance research has demonstrated that 50-95% of success in high level sports can be attributed to mental factors known collectively as "Mental Toughness".  The same can be said for acting.  This workshop will allow you to learn techniques employed by top athletes to help them stay at the top of their game.
