Fame is the inspiration story of a diverse group of talented students studying at the New York School of the Performing Arts during the early 1980s. The show explores issues such as prejudice, identity, self-worth, literacy, sexuality, drug abuse and perseverance. The highs and lows are too much for some but the kids' determination to find greatness shines through. Inspired by the hit film of the same name!

This fun 2007 musical features a Tony Award-nominated book by Heather Hach (Disney's Freaky Friday), a Tony Award-nominated score by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin, and is based on the 2001 film starring Reese Witherspoon. The West End production won the 2011 Laurence Olivier Award for 'Best New Musical'. ACTS is one of the first amateur theatre companies in Massachusetts to present this musical, produced exclusively with permission from MTI.
